CEC Entertainment, the global leader in family entertainment and operator of Chuck E. Cheese's and Peter Piper Pizza restaurants has an immediate opening at our Support Center based in Irving, TX for an experienced IT Jr. Quality Assurance Analyst to join our team!



The CEC Information technology portfolio is built around third-party service providers and SaaS solutions, a “hybrid cloud” environment involving the NCR Aloha platform, the Workday platform, and a Microsoft stack. The project solutions delivery approach is to maintain a lean IT organization and use a “flex staffing” strategy to assemble the skills and resources needed to successfully deliver projects. These two characteristics combine to create a challenging environment for project planning and execution involving multiple vendors, multiple external resources, and highly constrained internal resources. Additionally, the project management methodology, and project administration and control processes need to be executed well to deliver projects effectively.


Position Overview
Develop and establish quality assurance standards and measures for information technology services within the IT organization. Evaluate and test new or modified software programs and software development procedures used to verify that programs function according to user requirements and established guidelines. Accountable for ensuring test responsibilities for creating, executing and managing QA test strategy, test plans and cases for applications. Role requires both hands-on manual / automation testing where applicable.

Essential Responsibilities
• Develops, maintains, and conducts test plans and scripts for tracking defects and fixes in product development, software application development, information systems, and operations systems. Documents test results, corrective actions required, and logs defects/issues for resolution.
• Creates and maintains data set consistent with test specifications and test procedures.
• Writes documentation to describe program evaluation, testing, and testing results
• Supports internal IT Change Control procedures. Provides quality systems review of applicable changes.
• Assists in the on-going evolution of software quality assurance best practices.
• Identifies differences between established standards and user applications. Suggests modifications to conform to standards.
• May conduct compatibility tests with vendor provided programs.
• May test proposed software or software enhancement for feasibility.
• May gather and analyze data in support of business cases, proposed projects, and systems requirements.
• Create test cases based on collaboration with project team for both Agile and Waterfall projects.
• Responsible for coordinating and executing all phases of testing and associated activities of test types as required to produce quality software.


Essential Qualifications
• Bachelor’s Degree in MIS, Computer Science or related field preferred.
• Relevant technology certification(s) is a plus.
• 2+ years of QA experience and IT experience
• Experience with retail organizations and point-of-sale system.
• Experience in multiple phases of testing (system, regression, integration, etc.)
• Experience developing use cases and test scripts to execute testing plans.
• Experience testing user interface and batch processing in the related systems.
• Experience testing integrations including file level validation (sample population) a plus.
• Experience with test automation a plus (Selenium).
• Experience using MS Visual Studio Team Foundation Server or VSTS (MS Test Manager a plus)
• Experienced in Workday a plus. ERP (Human Capital and Financials) applications (PeopleSoft, Oracle EBS, SAP, etc.) or other software-as-a-service application is an acceptable substitute


Physical Demands


To perform the duties of this position, the incumbent must have the ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, twist, reach, and carry, lift, pull, push between 1 – 25 lbs. Incumbent must use a computer, with repetitive movement of both hands. Incumbent must be able to work an 8-hour shift, with some overtime. Incumbent must also be available to travel to various locations by airplane or by operating a vehicle if needed.
