CEC Entertainment, the global leader in family entertainment and operator of Chuck E. Cheese's and Peter Piper Pizza restaurants, is seeking an experienced IT Server Administrator to join our team! This service-oriented opportunity is based at our Corporate Support Center in Irving, Texas.
The Infrastructure Operations & Service Management team is responsible for maintenance, management, and first line response for all technology enabled systems and platforms within a Windows and VMWare environment. The IT Server Administrator plays an important role in the day-to-day support function of Chuck E. Cheese and Peter Piper restaurants to ensure that all incidents and requests receive timely response, systems are continually monitored, patching and other maintenance duties are performed on schedule, and incidents and/or requests are managed to SLAs. The person who is selected for this position will have the ability to build strong relationships within the IT organization and with business stakeholders, while being able to manage and support CEC’s core and site based technology infrastructure.
The Server Administrator works with CEC’s server / computing network, using information technology to ensure the stability and use of all server based systems for employees and store locations. These systems include services that are local to the site as well as enterprise based services which include the management of server OS, maintenance, patching, dns, dhcp, and other interdependent systems. Support, in some cases, will include working with third party providers and other internal teams to ensure services are operational at all times. The Server Administrator must have advanced skills to design, configure, implement and provide advanced support for the server based systems and be up-to-date on the latest server technologies (both physical and virtual hosts).
Essential Functions
• Under general direction, responsible for activities related to system administration.
• Responsible for the installation, maintenance, configuration, and integrity of computing hardware and software in compliance with standards.
• Responsibility for the uptime, performance, and recoverability of the systems both hardware and software.
• Responsible for the uptime of external client facing web application servers.
• Evaluate and recommend hardware and software upgrades and must be able to design and plan for the growth of the infrastructure.
• Complete projects on agreed to time lines and within pre-defined budgetary constraints.
• Administration of Windows based servers and associated software applications.
• 2nd and 3rd tier support for all Help Desk escalated support issues.
• A critical component of supporting the environment will be preparing for services outages and responding to them in a timely manner.
• Provide extended coverage for CEC store locations throughout the US and Canada, handling any server related issues that is escalated to the group.
• Provide remote assistance for the security and network teams.
• The systems administrator at CEC Entertainment will wear many hats, including assisting the current helpdesk in times of emergency.
• This candidate must be able to flexible hours as needed and some local travel may be necessary.
• Provide Outstanding Services Management & Support of IT Platforms & Services
• Support customer site installation of server based systems.
• Providing recovery and restoration of server systems in event of a disaster or major incident.
• Complying with security and controls requirements regarding data and other compliance related matters.
• Oversee open incidents and service requests to ensure they are resolved/fulfilled in a timely manner.
• Perform hierarchal and functional escalations and coordinating activities between multiple IT resolver groups for critical or chronic issues.
• Serve as the first point-of-contact for escalations.
• Visit stores as a “boots on the ground” approach to obtain first hand feedback on the store’s technology health.
• Liaison with technology operations teams (including field support, application teams, and leadership) to ensure swift resolution of incidents within service targets – especially during critical outages/changes/tasks.
• Liaison with vendors, contractors, etc. to ensure that third parties fulfill their contractual obligations, with regards to resolving problems and providing problem-related information and data.
• Advocate for Continual Service Improvement (CSI).
• Assist and guide technology teams and customers to follow documented ITSM processes.
• Identifying and implementing opportunities and solutions to enhance customer experience.
• Managing site system related designs, End of Life (EOL) hardware and OS versions.
• Planning and implementing server related changes.
• Prepare and Maintain Accurate Technical Documentation
• Assist with disconnect process to ensure IP address, license, keys, client accounts are removed.
• Ensuring operational excellence by managing incidents or customer network related issues to completion in a timely manner.

Essential Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree with emphasis in Computer Information Systems, Information Technology, Network or a closely related field with course work in technology-related subjects, preferred but not required.
• ITIL v3 certification preferred

Physical Demands
To perform the duties of this position, the incumbent must have the ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, twist, reach, and carry, lift, pull, push between 1 – 25 lbs. Incumbent must use a computer, with repetitive movement of both hands. Incumbent must be able to work an 8-hour shift, with frequent overtime. Incumbent must be available to travel to various locations by airplane or by operating a vehicle.
